This has been a year to remember.
There have been Norfolks performing successfully in activities as diverse
as earthdog, tracking, obedience, agility, rally, dock diving, weight pulling
and conformation ... all the while earning considerable admiration as well
as titles.
Remembering the breed from the days when formal activities for 'drop eared
Norwich' were limited to AKC conformation and obedience ... with a very
occasional American Working Terrier Association (AWTA) trial thrown in for
good measure ... it is heartening to see so many people having fun with
their dogs in so many different ways.
While not everyone chooses to engage in organized activities with their
Norfolks, for those who do there are myriad paths to follow.
Not to fracture Robert Frost's "A Road Not Taken" ... but for
Norfolks it seems that "Any Road Taken" can lead to fun, adventure,
and a chance to show their remarkably diverse talents.
Well done ... everyone ... you and your Norfolks are wonderful ambassadors
for the breed. Continue your adventures in 2010!
