Saturday, October 10th

Sleep late … take time to see the Fall Foliage … come early and walk on the grounds with your dogs … come to our obedience and rally run thrus –our match will START at 4:oo p.m.

1:00 – 2:00 try your hand at obedience … be coached or be judged … your call …  up to 5 minutes ring time per dog.  Work on heeling, retrieving, stand for exam/exercises of your choice. Sign up on site.

2:15 – 3:00 try your hand at rally … be coached or be judged … your call … up to 5 minutes ring time per dog. Sign up on site.

3:00 Match Registration

4:00 Match judging begins with longtime Norfolk breeder Sheila Robbins from Elkins, New Hampshire.

Dinner:

Dinner will be on site at approximately 6:30  … no need to travel … pizza, salads, desserts, soft drinks (pre-registration required).

All Saturday Events will be indoors … plenty of crating space for your dogs, indoor restrooms, climate controlled training facility.

Note – Times are approximate.  We will start lure coursing in the morning when the temperature should be cool (the weather in New England is variable!). After that, times are variable depending on the number of dogs, the interest of owners, and the weather.

9:30-10:30              Lure Coursing

10:30-12:00            Earthdog, Barn Hunt, Flat Racing

(Special attention to beginner dogs and handlers)

12:00                        Lunch Break – followed by Annual Meeting (all welcome)

1:00 – 1:30               Flat Racing for ‘bragging rights’

1:30 -2:30               Lure Coursing

Field event etiquette – dogs must be kept on lead at all times unless actively participating in an event. Please be patient and friendly with inexperienced dogs and owners.

Fee Schedule

Pre-entries: $15.00 per dog includes Saturday’s match & Sunday’s events

10.00 each additional dog for both Saturday & Sunday; same owner with same address as first dog.

Saturday Only or Sunday Only (pre-entry) – $10.00 per dog

The cost per dog for those registering on-site on Saturday or Sunday will be $12.00 per dog, per day. Pre-registration is strongly recommended for everyone’s convenience.

Cardiac Clinic, Sunday, October 11

Board Certified cardiologist Dr. John McGregor will be doing Doppler heart exams between 10:00 a.m. and Noon on a first-come basis but you DO need to sign up and pay in advance (if appropriate).
To complete the CHF study of MVD, we need dogs six years of age and older who have NOT previously been examined in this study. These dogs will be tested at NO charge.
Cost for all other Norfolks regardless of age is $150.

FROM BOSTON AND POINTS NORTH

1. Route 95 South

2. Exit Route 109 to Westwood- Stay on Route 109 for approximately 3.8 miles

3. Left onto North Street. (At Bubbling Brook Ice Cream Stand)

4. Continue to the “T” in the road (Small pond on right)

5. Right onto Main Street (Route 1A) – Right at first driveway

FROM THE WEST

1. Mass Pike to Route 495 South

2. Exit at Route 1A in Wrentham (Wrentham Outlet exit)

3. Follow Route 1A into and through Wrentham Center

4. Continue on Route 1A through Walpole Center

5. From the lights at Walpole Center at the intersection of Routes 1 and 27 continue up the hill (still on Route 1A).

6. Pass through a yellow flashing light and a set of full lights at the Stop and Shop Plaza.

7. After the Stop and Shop Plaza, as you go up the hill, you will see a flashing yellow light on the left. We are the third driveway on the left after the yellow flashing light, immediately after the white board fence.

FROM RHODE ISLAND AND POINTS SOUTH

1. Route 95 North

2. Take Exit 9, and follow the signs for Route 1 to Walpole

3. Take a left on Route 27 at the intersection at the first set of lights

4. Follow Route 27 (quite windy and twisty, three sets of lights, a stop sign and another set of lights before you come to Route 1A)

5. Right onto Route 1A (Main Street) in the center of Walpole

6. From Walpole Center (the intersection of Routes 1 and 27), pass through a yellow flashing light and a set of full lights at the Stop and Shop Plaza.
