Dear Prospective ANTA Member,
As you may know, the American Norfolk Terrier Association (ANTA), is a national club, with an international membership, that is devoted to protecting the interests of the Norfolk Terrier through education, communication, and fostering the special camaraderie that develops through ownership of this charming and rare breed.
We publish a quarterly newsletter, ANTIC (American Norfolk Terrier Informational Circular), that informs readers of the results of past events, provides news of upcoming activities, and contains information of interest on a variety of Norfolk-related topics. We encourage all members to send in articles and photos sharing their happy, and sometimes sad, moments with their Norfolks. We have a Club Store with Norfolk trinkets, clothing, artwork and memorabilia, including the “must have” The Norfolk Terrier, the definitive book on the breed written by the late Joan R. Read. We conduct matches, sporting and educational events to promote both the versatility of the breed and goodwill and friendly competition among Norfolk owners.
Anyone who is at least 18 years old may apply for ANTA membership. Our Bylaws require that an applicant be sponsored by two members in good standing. You can meet members at ANTA events, at AKC dog shows, and at other performance events. The breeder from whom you acquired your Norfolk should be willing to sponsor you, too. While the sponsorship requirement may at first seem difficult, ANTA membership demonstrates not only support for the Norfolk breed, it also confers the rights and responsibilities inherent in helping to run the Club.
For the US and Canada, dues are $20/single and $25/family per year and includes a subscription to ANTIC. A nonmember subscription is $15 for the year. For delivery to foreign addresses other than Canada, add $5 per year. Payment must be made in US funds and checks drawn on US banks. Memberships/subscriptions for more than one year at a time are acceptable.
