ANTA’s Summer Fun Day Lives Up to Its Name

Summer has finally arrived in New England and with that we had the ANTA Summer Fun Day in Walpole, MA.  This event was well attended with participants from Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.  There were over 50 dogs pre-registered for the event and more showed up ‘on the day’.

The weather was beautiful and dogs and humans alike seemed to have a good time.  Let’s hope the weather will be just as lovely in October.

In addition to the ‘just for fun’ activities, Dr. Marcia Aubin checked patellas on 15 dogs and did CERF (eye) exams on 20.  We appreciate the participation of all who had their dogs checked.

Thanks to Betsey Bliss, Carol Faulk and Mary Ellen Wigmore who helped organize the event, and to Jane Anderson who brought us many interesting items with the Club store.  Lou Heimbach and Harry Owen were in charge of lure coursing, as Lini Federici and Peggy Metcalf introduced many dogs to their first rats in our beginning earthdog practice.
