CHARITIES
ANTA encourages support for the following charaties that are
devoted to causes of interest to Norfolk owners.
- The James A Baker
Institute for Animal Health
- The James A. Baker Institute for Animal Health was founded in 1950
as a unit of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in
Ithica, NY, and has established a worldwide reputation for advances in
infectious disease control and immunology, particularly in vaccine production
for dogs. The Baker Institute does canine research in areas such as Lyme
disease, osteoarthritis (hip dysplasia), the molecular biology of erythropoietin
for gene therapy, parvo and related viruses for the development of improved
vaccines, and inherited diseases of the eye and reproductive tract.

- AKC Canine Health Foundation Donor Advised Funds for Norfolks
- The American Kennel Club created the CHF to raise money for canine
health research. Through its Donor Advised Fund program it provides a means
for collecting and administering funds for specific breeds and purposes.

Donations may be made online, by phone to 330-995-0807 or by sending checks
to AKCCHF, 251 W Garfield Rd, Suite 160, Aurora, OH 44202-8856. Be sure
to specify the Donor Advised Fund that you wish to receive your donation.
On a check, you may do this by writing the name of the fund on the memo
line of your check.

to research on mitral valve disease (MVD) in Norfolks

- The Norwich and Norfolk Club Donor Advised Fund for Norfolks - for
general research to the benefit of Norfolk Terriers.

- AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB DISASTER RELIEF FUND
- Following the devastating acts of terrorism of September 11th, many
have wondered what they could do either to support the search and rescue
dogs or to provide relief for the pets of disaster victims. In response,
the AKC has created a Disaster Relief Fund, now superceded by the AKC Companion
Animal Recovery Corporation Canine Support and Relief Fund. Details may
